About the position

Stability Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled travel nurse RN specializing in the Emergency Department (ED) for a travel nursing position in Kenner, Louisiana. This role is designed for a registered nurse who is ready to take on the challenges of working in a fast-paced emergency environment. The position is for a duration of 9 weeks, requiring a commitment of 36 hours per week, with shifts scheduled for 12 hours during the night. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, gaining valuable experience while providing essential care to patients in critical situations. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients in the emergency department. You will be expected to handle a variety of medical emergencies, demonstrating your clinical expertise and ability to remain calm under pressure. The position offers a competitive pay package based on 12-hour shifts and includes a tax-free stipend, which will be determined upon confirmation of the assignment. Responsibilities

  • Assess and triage patients in the emergency department.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatments.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Louisiana or compact state license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency department setting.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Previous travel nursing experience is a plus.
  • Certification in emergency nursing (CEN) preferred.
