About the position

MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This position is designed for a qualified MRI Tech to join a top healthcare facility for a contract duration of 13 weeks, working 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MRI technology and be able to operate MRI scanners safely and efficiently, assisting in the diagnosis of various diseases and injuries. As a travel MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors in the vicinity of the MRI scanner's powerful magnetic field. You will position patients and coils on the MRI table, inject contrast media as required, and set appropriate technical parameters while observing image data on computer monitors during scans. Familiarity with normal and abnormal images is essential, as is the ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations. Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines is a critical aspect of this role, as is delivering quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner. The position also emphasizes maintaining a safe work environment and promoting national patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and MRI principles to operate MRI scanners safely and efficiently.
  • Position patients and coils on the MRI table and inject contrast media as required.
  • Set appropriate technical parameters and operate MRI scanners and related equipment.
  • Observe image data on computer monitors during scans and recognize differences between normal and abnormal images.
  • Respond to life-threatening situations and ensure patient safety during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practice guidelines.
  • Deliver quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner.
  • Maintain an environment of excellence that is patient-focused, providing timely and compassionate care.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment for both staff and customers.

Requirements

  • Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid state radiology registration as required by state law.
  • Eighteen months of MRI Tech experience preferred, ideally in a critical care setting.
  • Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
