About the position

The Medical Laboratory Technician at Moab Regional Hospital is responsible for providing accurate and timely test results to assist healthcare providers in determining patient care needs. The role requires a strong generalist with a preference for microbiology reading experience and the ability to perform phlebotomy when necessary. The technician must adapt quickly to various laboratory tasks and maintain high standards of customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely test results to support patient care decisions.
• Perform venous and arterial blood collection as needed.
• Conduct laboratory analyses across various areas including microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and more.
• Respond quickly and accurately in a variety of laboratory situations.
• Maintain confidentiality and reliability in work schedule.
• Adapt to new skills and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Current ASCP certification is required.
• Ability to read microbiology results independently is preferred.
• Prior experience in microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood banking, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and blood gases is necessary.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
• High levels of self-motivation and management are essential.
• Ability to lift/move up to 15 lbs. without assistance and more with assistance.
