About the position

The Trauma Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator provides facilitation and direction for a multidisciplinary trauma service with a primary focus on developing and coordinating programs to prevent traumatic injury through public and professional education. This role involves facilitating access to the educational and clinical resources of the Trauma Center. The position requires collaboration with different agencies and working with the public to share injury prevention information utilizing various methods ranging from flyers to a website to formal classes. The programs developed will be based on data derived from the trauma registry to focus on the injury types and problems seen in the area. The coordinator must adhere to the highest professional ethical standards of practice related to confidentiality and analysis in conjunction with the organization's mission statement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate programs to prevent traumatic injury.
  • Facilitate access to educational and clinical resources of the Trauma Center.
  • Collaborate with different agencies to share injury prevention information.
  • Utilize various methods to disseminate information, including flyers, websites, and formal classes.
  • Analyze data from the trauma registry to focus on prevalent injury types and problems.

Requirements

  • An associate degree or higher in Nursing with KY RN License or license/certification in a related clinical field.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Significant experience in data analysis techniques and interpretations within a health care setting.
  • Minimum five years of trauma experience (ICU, ED, and Flight).
  • Emergency or critical care experience preferred.
  • TNCC or equivalent certification preferred.
