About The Position

HonorHealth is seeking a full-time Transporter for their Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ. This position is part of the Patient Services category and operates on a Day shift. The role involves transporting patients and materials throughout the hospital, maintaining transport equipment, and adhering to safety and patient care protocols. Requirements

  • Current and Active BLS Certification Required
  • High school Coursework Required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - Certification
  • Basic Life Support BLS training course C Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred
  • 6 months work experience in healthcare and customer service Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Transports patients and materials throughout all hospital areas.
  • Responsible for individual average transport time within guidelines.
  • Maintains transport equipment and supplies.
  • Complies with regulations, safety and patient care protocols.
  • Ensures customer service and quality standards are met.
  • Transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed or chair and non-patient moves to and from designated areas or departments.
  • Complies with all safety protocols when transporting patients and materials.
  • Uses proper body mechanics.
  • Ensures patient safety when transferring a patient to and from multiple surfaces and/or devices.
  • Operates company issued mobile devices.
  • May include dispatch role.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and completes accurate handoff with clinical staff.
  • Communicates appropriately with patient and other members of care team.
  • Introduces him or herself, verifies patient identity and informs the patient of their destination.
  • Follows HonorHealth Standards of Conduct and demonstrates ICARE values at all times.
  • Complies with established PPE guidelines and proper handling of patient.
  • Maintains wheelchairs and stretchers appropriately.
  • Sanitizes equipment following established protocols.
  • Immediately reports any equipment malfunctions and removes the items from service.
  • Utilizes Electronic Medical Record system(s) consistently for safe and efficient transport of patients.
