Transportation Supervisor

About the position

The position involves direct supervision and management of Transportation Officers and Assistant Transportation Supervisors within the transportation operations of TransCor America, LLC. The role requires ensuring compliance with operational policies, safety regulations, and effective communication among staff. The supervisor will guide staff in maintaining a secure environment for inmates, detainees, and residents while promoting public safety and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include overseeing training, conducting inspections, managing financial resources, and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise and monitor the Transportation Officers in their performance regarding all aspects of transportation operations.
• Communicate and support the vision of TransCor America, LLC and ensure alignment with TCA goals.
• Guide and direct staff in the safe and orderly operation of the defined service.
• Ensure staff training is conducted, tracked, and followed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Review operational policies, procedures, and emergency plans for compliance with laws and policies.
• Effectively communicate responsibilities, authority, and accountability to all direct subordinates.
• Practice sound financial management and control through overtime management and vehicle maintenance.
• Conduct and/or participate in inspections of the defined service to meet or exceed standards.
• Attend staff meetings to maintain effective communication and operational effectiveness.
• Engage staff through mentoring, coaching, communication, and team-building exercises.
• Read, analyze, and interpret various documents and reports.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, and/or assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
• Must have 2 years of supervisor or management experience minimum in a related industry such as Corrections or Transportation.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Superior interpersonal abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Possess valid Class B commercial drivers' license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
• A Bachelor's degree.
