About the position

The Transportation Supervisor at Core-Mark is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the transportation and delivery functions, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and efficient routing of deliveries. This role involves supervising a team of drivers, managing schedules, and maintaining accurate records while fostering a safe and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Assists in scheduling and ensures timely deliveries and pickups.
• Rides with drivers for training and evaluation purposes.
• Assists the Transportation/Operations Manager with day-to-day administration of transportation and delivery functions.
• Calculates driver payroll, reviews driver trip logs and expense reports, and resolves problems.
• Monitors vehicle safety and ensures compliance with DOT and OpCo regulations.
• Coordinates tracking of drivers' relevant information such as license status and safety-related data.
• Ensures accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related paperwork.
• Reviews post-trip inspections to ensure maintenance of trucks, tractors, and trailers.
• Works with the Transportation or Operations Manager to minimize operating expenses and ensure efficient routing of deliveries.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 2+ years of transportation experience including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations.
• 1+ years of transportation management or supervisory experience within the foodservice industry.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and experience driving commercial vehicles, highly preferred.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience with a team of greater than 10 CDL Class A drivers.
