About The Position

CACI is seeking a Transportation Operations Assistant to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) in Bethesda, MD. The Transportation Operations Assistant will perform a variety of tasks depending on the needs of the day. Typical work includes reviewing the vehicle maintenance schedule and identifying vehicles due for service, coordinating with various departments to collect monthly vehicle mileage logs for the base fleet, and scheduling vehicles for their routine maintenance or recall work. In addition, the Transportation Operations Assistant will support the team by helping prepare and load equipment onto trucks and trailers for transport, ensuring everything is secure and ready for departure.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
  • Previous experience in an administrative, logistics, or operational support role is preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various base personnel and external service providers
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle scheduling and record-keeping for a large vehicle fleet
  • A proactive approach to safety, especially when working in an environment with heavy machinery and transportation activities
  • Physical demands - Must be physically able to assist with loading and unloading equipment, ability to lift up to 75 lbs. when required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience in an administrative, logistics, or operational support role preferably within a vehicle/equipment setting

Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, and track monthly mileage logs for a fleet of over 90 base vehicles.
  • Schedule routine and preventative maintenance for all fleet vehicles to ensure they remain in good operational condition.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments for any necessary vehicle recalls issued by manufacturers.
  • Assist with the safe loading and unloading of equipment and materials onto trucks and trailers.
  • Provide ground support for crane and forklift operations as a helper/spotter (no operator certification required).
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Assist with the manual tasks of loading and unloading equipment.
