Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Moderate level of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business
  • 3 years of experience in truck routing, scheduling, and mapping in a redistribution environment
  • Basic comprehension of warehouse logistics
  • Eclipse system experience

Responsibilities

  • Sequence stops in the most efficient way for daily routing.
  • Balance cube to ensure most deliveries go on our own trucks to minimize common carrier utilization.
  • Provide guidance to sales, customer service, and operations on how new customers will be delivered.
  • Set route start times and provide appointment times and receiving hours to operations and drivers.
  • Provide guidance to drivers on most efficient and safest delivery routes.
  • Route vendor pickups and transfers.
  • Update routes on routing sheets including holiday schedules.
  • Make geocoding updates in the system for routes.
  • Create and separate routes as needed based on vendor/customer needs.
  • Investigate and initialize optimal routing solutions.
  • Take field calls from Sales Representatives for potential new customers to plan out potential routes.
  • Prepare reports for department heads on metrics such as on-time delivery percentage, driver efficiency performance, and underutilized routes.
  • Monitor route efficiencies by tracking and communicating with drivers on extra stops, length of stops, and route issues.
  • Field driver calls regarding customer, route, and truck issues.
  • Report dwell times to CS and Sales to help customer performance with deliveries.
  • Provide guidance to drivers on delivery or software needs (Geotab, POD, Samsara, Whip Around).
  • Monitor equipment utilization for trucks.
  • Monitor, plan, and schedule Preventative Maintenance (PM) and defects marked within Whiparound.
  • Partner with the Safety & Compliance department to communicate any training or corrective action opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
