About The Position

This role is responsible for inspecting trucks and trailers before dispatch, ensuring all equipment meets operating and safety requirements. The driver will load, haul, and unload machines at customer job sites or Ring Power facilities. They will maintain the appearance of the equipment, notify the Dispatcher of any problems, and keep up-to-date with all state and federal laws, including Department of Transportation regulations. The position requires maintaining an accurate log book, ensuring all required documents are available for haul, and checking for customer abuse of equipment, reporting any damages to the Dispatcher. A good relationship with customers is essential, and the driver will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Formal Education High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of class 7 & 8 driving required.
  • Must possess a clean and valid Class A Driver's License.
  • 5 - 8 years Tractor/Trailer equipment transport experience required.
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Post High School education including a specialized technical course or equivalent years of experience as a Transport Driver preferred.
  • Updating of Knowledge Job requirements change requiring re-training to stay current every 1-2 years.
  • Problem Solving Job requires problem solving ability, established examples / guidance are not always available
  • Creativity Job requires some creativity to generate solutions or improve effectiveness within well-established boundaries.
  • Autonomy Job is not normally monitored, but overall objectives are clearly defined. Use of discretion in how the work is done, setting priorities and decision making is encouraged. More emphasis is placed on achieving the desired outcome, not on controlling the process.
