About The Position

The Transfer Car Operator is responsible for transferring corrugator stock to work in process (WIP). This role reports to the corrugator supervisors and supports in stacker operator duties. Key responsibilities include following safety rules, reading work orders to understand customer specifications, verifying sheet sizes and score locations, checking board quality, identifying sheets with order numbers, removing nonconforming materials, and maintaining a clean work area. The role also involves performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

Ability to perform the duties/responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler
Ability to use basic shop math
Ability to learn, follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team

Responsibilities

Transfer corrugator stock to WIP (work in process)
Report to corrugator supervisors
Support in Stacker operator duties and responsibilities
Follow all safety rules and procedures
Read factory work orders and converting schedules to learn customer specifications
Verify (measure) sheets to ensure sheet sizes and score locations conform to customer specifications
Check other board quality characteristics such as warp, score strength, caliper, bond, line-up, and color
Identify sheets with chalk-written order numbers and/or load tags
Remove and identify nonconforming materials (warp, loose, out-of-line, etc.)
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
