About the position

The Transaction Systems Manager is responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing the financial and accounting systems within the finance organization. This role focuses on optimizing processes, troubleshooting system issues, and leading system upgrades or implementations to automate manual processes and improve productivity. The position involves collaboration with the financial services team, IT, and external vendors to ensure that accounting software and related systems meet operational needs and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and enhance financial and accounting systems within the finance organization.
• Optimize processes and troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with the financial services team, IT, and external vendors.
• Lead system upgrades or implementations for accounting software and related systems.
• Identify opportunities to optimize transaction processes through system automation.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and prepaid expense amortization.
• Analyze spending on contract services, utilities, and freight.
• Assist in the month-end closing process, reporting, and annual budget cycles.
• Support annual financial audits by the audit firm.
• Document processes and work instructions for accounting systems management.
• Provide backup support to the Accounting Manager and Director of Financial Services as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a concentration in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of seven years of accounting experience.
• Training and knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in accounting transaction automation preferred but not required.
