About the position

The Trainer - Data Entry position at Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. is responsible for providing high-quality training to new hires and ongoing education to existing employees. This role involves data entry and lab assistant duties, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and maintaining quality control and safety standards. The trainer will oversee the day-to-day operations of the data entry team, monitor performance metrics, and facilitate effective communication within the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality training to new hires and continuing education to established employees.
  • Perform data entry and lab assistant duties as required.
  • Maintain departmental operating policies and procedures, including quality control and safety.
  • Review receipt of specimens from various sources and ensure proper processing and shipping.
  • Utilize job knowledge and problem-solving skills to ensure quality data entry.
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics to management.
  • Motivate team members and discover training needs for coaching.
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking within the team.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff to ensure quality orders are entered or received.
  • Support the Data Entry Supervisor in various duties and functions.
  • Coordinate training across the department, including tracking training paperwork.
  • Update Procedure and Training Manuals as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing preferred.
  • Data entry experience in a production environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical reports.
  • Ability to write accurate and concise clinical documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data using statistical methods.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels within the laboratory and with customers.
  • Proficiency in typing and 10-key operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety policies and regulations.
