About the position

The Trainer and Engagement Specialist at Project Renewal will play a crucial role in facilitating workshops and providing support for individuals facing significant barriers to employment. This position focuses on preparing clients for careers in social services through training programs, internships, and ongoing engagement to ensure successful job placements.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual job readiness and skills training workshops for clients.
  • Collaborate with the Skills Training Coordinator to develop and implement new workshops as needed.
  • Provide one-on-one job readiness support, including mock interviews and resume development.
  • Assist clients with computer skills and online job searches.
  • Adapt training methods to accommodate various learning styles and individual needs.
  • Incorporate case studies, role-playing exercises, and group discussions to facilitate active learning.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with clients enrolled in the program.
  • Engage with clients during their internships to ensure smooth operations.
  • Address challenges that arise with clients in the classroom or internship sites.
  • Document attendance and client progress in Salesforce and other required systems.
  • Assist with internship assignment and administrative management.
  • Coordinate with Job Developers to secure employment for clients who completed the program.

Requirements

  • B.A. degree strongly preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience working with vulnerable populations, including those who have been incarcerated or faced mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and virtual platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Classroom).
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM systems.
