About the position
The Trailer Mechanic position at Trinity Employment Specialists involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers. The role requires knowledge of various mechanical systems, including air brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems, as well as welding and fabrication skills. The mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, conducting repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Repairs product line equipment according to Company standards, under direction.
- Conducts preventative maintenance and lubrication on selected items of auxiliary equipment and trailers.
- Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailers.
- Perform repairs to brakes and electrical systems.
- Complete all required training and certifications, including HazMat, Cargo Tank, and Confined Space.
Requirements
- Completion of a certificate program or technical training in mechanics and trailer repair.
- Welding or fabrication experience required.
- Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferred.
- Valid Class C driver's license.
- Knowledge on tankers and boilers.
- Able to rebuild heavy haul trailers.
- Valid Class B CDL preferred but not required.
