About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Monitoring Specialist / Dispatcher / Call Center to be based in Detroit, MI. This is for an overnight shift (9pm - 5am) with weekends and some holiday hours required. The position is based out of a client location near downtown Detroit, MI. Responsibilities include updating and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events and congestion using devices such as closed-circuit camera TV systems/cameras and detectors. The role acts as an emergency dispatcher within a call center environment, dispatching responders via a two-way radio system to assist motorists, respond to events, and handle other activities requiring timely and efficient responses. Data entry functions are also part of the role. The specialist must be able to fluently work in multiple PC applications simultaneously, possess exceptional organizational skills to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in real time and in potentially serious situations, and have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively receive, document, and relay information from numerous sources. The role works under direct supervision, performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, examples, and results from computer systems. Critical thinking, assessments, and decision-making based on circumstances are essential in this 24/7/365 environment.

Requirements

  • High School + no experience
  • Background and drug/alcohol screening required
  • Willing to work 24/7/365 operation - must be willing to work outside of standard business hours

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of experience of surveillance and or CCTV monitoring
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer/Client relationship experience
  • Ability to multi-task

Responsibilities
