Traffic Coordinator

About the position

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for executing all transportation requirements by collaborating with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics 3PL partners to schedule, manage, and track shipments from both domestic and international origins. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
• Partner with internal departments, including Warehouse Operations and Procurement, to align shipping schedules and resolve logistical issues
• Work closely with 3PL providers to arrange pickups, manage transit schedules, and track shipments through to final delivery
• Monitor shipment status proactively identify delays or disruptions and implement corrective actions as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation for all shipments, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and delivery confirmations
• Analyze transportation performance metrics and contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies
• Support the implementation of transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics technologies to streamline operations
• Provide regular updates to management on shipment status, potential delays, and overall transportation performance

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience working in a warehouse or transportation capacity
• Computer/data entry experience
• Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Proficient mathematical skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
• Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends as the workload demands
• Ability to effectively communicate in English
