About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation’s space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space— delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you’ll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space. The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects. The Tracking Architecture Performance Department (TAPD) within the Integrated Performance Subdivision (IPS) conducts model-based analyses to deliver differentiated, context-informed insights about tracking performance across various architecture scenarios in both nominal and contested operating environments. The department specializes in analyzing missile defense, space domain awareness, and surveillance architectures, serving as the focal point for developing sophisticated assessment tools and providing expert analysis to support critical mission objectives. TAPD’s key modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) focus areas include comprehensive architecture evaluations, what-if analyses to explore alternative configurations, and algorithm development, tuning, and optimization for multi-sensor tracking systems. Our work enables decision-makers to understand system capabilities, identify performance gaps, and optimize architectural designs. We support a diverse portfolio of customers and programs across the defense and intelligence communities, and we're seeking curious, innovative teammates to help tackle our customers' most challenging problems. As an Engineering Manager of a TAPD section, you will lead teams that provide technical expertise and capabilities to support customers in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of space, air, and ground-based systems of systems. You will serve as a key point of contact for projects investigating tracking performance across various sensing architectures and operational scenarios in both nominal and contested environments. In this role, you will be responsible for building and nurturing collaboration within the department and across other engineering teams to ensure mission success.
