About The Position

A Towing Lot Superintendent oversees the organization, security, maintenance and operations of Baltimore City’s impoundment lots. The work of this class involves directing the activities of towing, vehicle processor and data entry work units. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek and are subject to 24-hour callback on a rotating basis and as required for emergencies. Work is performed in an office where working conditions are normal and, on the impoundment, and auction lots where employees are exposed to inclement weather and dust.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
  • Five years of experience in asset management.
  • Three years of experience in a vehicle impoundment lot.
  • Three years of supervisory responsibilities including disciplining, evaluating performance, and recommending hiring, firing, and promoting.
  • Valid Class C Noncommercial driver’s license, or an equivalent out-of-state driver’s license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management. Provisional driver’s license and learner's permits are not acceptable.
  • Must upload a copy of your valid driver’s license with application at the time of applying.
