This role involves wearing all required safety equipment and ensuring a safe work environment. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, clean and organize the work area according to 6S principles, and read blueprints or follow verbal/written instructions. Responsibilities include planning machine shop operations, heat-treating and welding parts, inspecting work using precision tools, and performing hand operations for producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. The technician will also fit, assemble, set up, run, and test dies, troubleshoot die issues, and repair tooling. Collaboration with other toolroom personnel and press operators is expected, along with assisting with troubleshooting during production runs. The role requires a high degree of precision, control, muscular control, and a delicate touch, as well as a high degree of attention and care to prevent injury. Troubleshooting skills, the ability to pull and set up tooling, and process hourly/daily paperwork are also necessary. In-press preventative maintenance will be performed as scheduled, along with other duties as required.
