About the position
The Tool Crib Assistant II position at Sierra Nevada Corporation involves managing tools and equipment essential for operations in the ISR, Aviation, and Security business area. The role focuses on receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining tools, ensuring they are functional and safe for use. The position requires a commitment to quality and safety, supporting the continuity of work operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive, store, and issue tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices.
- Clean, oil, and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment.
- Track surplus or obsolete equipment.
- Ensure tools and equipment are fully functional and kept in safe working condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of the use, maintenance, and repair of a variety of hand/power tools and tooling equipment.
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Basic understanding of Inventory and Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques.
- Experience with inventory databases.
- Current/valid passport and ability to obtain a visa for international travel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems.
- HazMat Training/Certification.
- Ability to operate a Forklift.
- Experience with shipping databases, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS.
- Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
