About the position

The Tool Associate at Hooper Corporation is responsible for tracking and distributing tools and materials for the Fabrication Shop and various job sites. This role requires collaboration with office personnel, job site foremen, division leaders, and management to ensure timely delivery of necessary resources, while maintaining accurate inventory records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate new tools and materials for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain systems for tracking tools across divisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation of tools and supplies.
• Maintain tool and equipment repair and calibration records.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify tool needs for Fab Shops and jobsites.
• Collaborate with Trucking Supervisor to schedule material and tool deliveries.
• Review quality of purchased products and ensure compliance with standards.
• Process tools and material requests and stage them for delivery.
• Inventory incoming tools from jobsites.
• Maintain inventory of consumable items in the tool crib.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic math skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in inventory control or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills required.
• Maintains a good driving record for occasional travel to job sites.
• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and vendors.
