About the position
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker/Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision tools and dies used in the production process. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes and the ability to work with various materials to create high-quality components that meet strict specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate milling machines, and other machinery to create tools and dies.
- Utilize hand tools and precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, to ensure accuracy in measurements.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to fabricate tooling components.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure that parts meet design specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating milling machines and using hand tools.
- Entry level considered.
- Strong mathematical skills for precise calculations and measurements.
- Familiarity with GD&T principles and their application in tool making.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of tooling design and fabrication processes is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
