About the position

The Toddler Child Care Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum activities that foster the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children. This role involves creating a nurturing and safe learning environment, maintaining accurate records of children's progress, and engaging with parents and staff to ensure effective communication and support for each child's development.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements curriculum activities and lesson plans that promote children's development.
• Implements program schedules for classroom activities, outdoor time, meals, and special activities.
• Uses positive guidance techniques consistent with state regulations.
• Counsels children with social, academic, or adjustment problems as they arise.
• Keeps accurate and current records of each child's developmental milestones, accidents, and attendance.
• Establishes developmentally appropriate room arrangements and learning environments.
• Plans formal and informal parent conferences with guidance from directors.
• Provides written communication to parents regarding their children's activities and milestones.
• Maintains classroom bulletin boards and ensures a welcoming environment.
• Supervises and mentors assistant teachers, assisting in their training and development.
• Observes and reports needed repairs to the facility and ensures safety for children.
• Implements emergency procedures and administers CPR/First Aid when necessary.

Requirements

• 1 year of childcare experience (required).
• Valid Child Development Associate Certification (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching.
• Strong working knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for center operations.
