TK TEACHER FOR 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR

About the position

The position of a TK Teacher involves providing effective instruction and supervision in assigned areas of responsibility. The teacher will be directly responsible to the School Site Administrator and any Teacher Aide present. The role includes evaluating student progress, maintaining professional competence, and creating a conducive learning environment. The teacher will also be responsible for supervising pupils, keeping records, holding parent conferences, and supporting district and school goals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose students and formulate long-range objectives.
• Use appropriate lesson objectives and skills sequencing within a subject area.
• Evaluate student progress and provide instruction in all board approved curriculum areas.
• Possess current knowledge of subject matter and teach to an objective.
• Apply principles of learning such as motivation, retention, transfer, reinforcement, and lesson design.
• Monitor and correct student performance.
• Develop a positive classroom atmosphere and maintain standards of behavior.
• Supervise pupils in various settings including playgrounds and cafeteria.
• Keep records and make reports as required.
• Hold parent conferences when necessary.
• Support district and school goals and objectives.
• Follow school district regulations and policies.

Requirements

• Hold a multiple subject credential (intern, preliminary, or clear).
• Have 24 units of early childhood education or development, previous experience in a preschool-age setting, or a Child Development Teacher Permit.
• Demonstrated professional competence.
• Ability to hear and speak to exchange information and make presentations.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and see to monitor classroom activities.
