About the position

The Tile and Stone Technician at COIT Services, Inc. is responsible for performing scheduled cleaning, maintenance, and restoration of natural stone and tile at assigned locations. This role emphasizes high standards of customer service and aims to enhance sales performance through effective communication and service delivery. The technician will operate company vehicles, manage cleaning equipment, and ensure compliance with safety procedures while representing the company professionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled cleaning, maintenance, and restoration of natural stone and tile as directed by the Operations Manager.
• Provide prompt and professional service to all customers, maintaining politeness and respect.
• Complete customer service schedules on time and keep internal personnel informed of daily schedules.
• Demonstrate professional knowledge of all company products and services.
• Determine customer requirements and effectively explain cleaning procedures to customers.
• Identify cleaning or restoration treatments needed to achieve desired results as per the client.
• Diagnose and recommend restoration solutions for natural stone and tile.
• Perform restoring applications such as polishing, honing, marble crystallization, lippage removal, and tile replacement.
• Manipulate cleaning equipment from the van into the customer's home.
• Follow all safety procedures as prescribed by the company.
• Operate company vehicle with good judgment, obeying all laws and rules of the road.
• Maintain assigned company vehicle in accordance with all policies and procedures.
• Ask customers for additional business and successfully sell add-on services and products.
• Accurately complete daily check-out and check-in procedures in a timely manner.
• Maintain a high level of personal grooming and appearance, adhering to company uniform standards.
• Attend training meetings as required.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Self-motivated individual with a good driving record.
• Ability to recognize and rectify problems.
• Ability to decipher color and texture to identify types of stone and finishes.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
• Ability to manipulate lift equipment weighing approximately 100 pounds.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Industry experience helpful, but not necessary.
• Outside sales experience helpful, but not necessary.

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
