About the position

The Box Office Coordinator at The Salt Shed plays a crucial role in supporting the Box Office Manager by executing various ticketing and administrative responsibilities. This position involves leading the open box office hours and providing guidance to staff during events. The coordinator will oversee the weekly open box office hours every Friday morning, along with additional special hours for offsite ticket sales. They will facilitate ticket sales and upgrades for patrons, assist in the management of artist VIP, guest, photo/press, and staff lists, and handle ticket purchases and distributions for sponsors, VIPs, and artist teams. In addition to ticketing responsibilities, the Box Office Coordinator will manage the venue's inbox and respond to guest inquiries via phone or email. They will address guest questions and assist with lost and found items, wayfinding, event information, and more, ensuring to resolve guest issues with outstanding customer service. Maintaining an organized and efficient box office environment is essential, as is supporting the creation and management of Salt Shed shows and upsells available on Ticketmaster. The coordinator will lead staff in box office operations on event days as designated and organize artist VIP, guest, photo/press, and staff lists, ensuring accurate event credentials are provided. The role also requires actively monitoring all ticket inventory, providing excellent customer service by answering guest inquiries via phone and email, and keeping the venue office stocked with necessary supplies. Organizing lost & found items for the venue, processing employee ticket requests, and assisting the Box Office Manager and General Manager with general office management tasks are also part of the job. Additional administrative duties or projects may be assigned by the Box Office Manager. This position requires a commitment of 30+ hours per week, with compensation ranging from $20 to $22 per hour.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Availability to work 30+ hours per week, including regular office hours and events as needed.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing or ticketing role is essential.
  • Familiarity with Ticketmaster is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Respect for diverse cultures, music, and art forms.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory capacity is advantageous.
  • Experience managing ancillary products such as upsells and premium hospitality offerings is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience in communicating effectively with staff, guests, and VIPs, while delivering excellent customer service across all levels of operations.
  • The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and work in a loud indoor and outdoor environment.
