About The Position

Perform diversified duties to organize and conduct therapeutic recreation activities. This role involves organizing and leading group activities and one-to-one sessions to improve sensory motor, cognitive, and psychosocial skills. The TRD is responsible for comprehensive documentation, including resident assessments, progress notes, attendance, MED A documentation, and discharge summaries, all in compliance with state and federal regulations. The position also requires participation in MDS/care plan data input, attending RCP meetings, and preparing activity areas. Additionally, the TRD will maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, drive company vehicles for outings, and attend staff meetings. Key aspects of the role include demonstrating leadership, mentoring residents, facilitating group processes, managing resident interpersonal needs, assessing and documenting resident progress, and ensuring resident safety during community outings. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • TRD Certification
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CT state Therapeutic Recreation Director (TRD) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist® (CTRS) Certification
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively
  • Ability to utilize various software packages to carry out position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and carry out appropriate group activities and one-to-one sessions to enhance sensory motor, cognitive and psychosocial skills.
  • Complete documentation of resident/patient assessment, progress notes, attendance MED A documentation, discharge summaries in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Input MDS/care plan data and attend RCP meetings.
  • Transport resident to and from scheduled activity area. Prepare activity area.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies and notify Coordinator of needs.
  • Drive Mozaic Senior Life vehicles as required for outings; attend and participate in a variety of staff meetings. Maintain regular attendance.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities, mentor residents, and engage them when participating in recreation programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to facilitate group process and will also be able to manage the interpersonal needs of the residents.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess and document the needs and progress of the residents.
  • Participate on Resident community outings as required, demonstrating Resident safety.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
