About the position

The Testing Center Manager at Dartmouth College is responsible for overseeing the administration of accommodated course tests, ensuring compliance with ADA/504 regulations, and maintaining high standards for security and confidentiality. This role involves leading communications with faculty, students, and staff, managing scheduling, and addressing capacity concerns strategically. The manager also develops and updates documentation regarding policies and procedures, implements communication protocols, and drives program improvements through ongoing assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of course tests consistent with faculty instructions and individually approved testing accommodations.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA/504 regulations and support critical compliance functions.
  • Maintain high standards for the security of testing materials and uphold strict student confidentiality policies.
  • Supervise and complete performance review process with at least one professional staff member.
  • Manage the A11y Testing Center schedule on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis.
  • Lead communications with faculty, academic department administrators, students, and SAS staff regarding accommodated test administration and logistics.
  • Resolve conflicts promptly and diplomatically to maintain strong instructor-student relationships and department reputation.
  • Anticipate and address capacity and staffing concerns, providing strategic solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive internal documentation.
  • Develop and implement protocols for email, phone, database, and in-person communications.
  • Oversee the management of website content regarding Testing Center guidelines and protocols.
  • Establish and enforce test-handling standards and protocols.
  • Lead ongoing program assessment to track usage and effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of administrative or program coordination experience in a fast-paced educational setting.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete duties with excellent follow-through.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to challenging situations and frequent schedule changes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Respect for privacy and adherence to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Canvas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of administrative or program coordination experience in a higher education setting.
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer issues (on PC and Mac) that may arise in the course of test administration.
  • Experience with Accessible Information Management or similar disability service database, Slack, and Qualtrics.
