Test Technician II

About The Position

This role requires mechanical skills with an understanding of assembly processes for construction equipment. The technician will be responsible for operating various types of mobile and stationary cranes, reading and understanding engineering drawings and test documents, and utilizing basic measurement devices. The position also involves working with automated test systems, electrical and hydraulic schematics, and automotive electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Mechanical skills with an understanding of assembly processes for construction equipment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to learn and use the Verification Management System.
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.
  • Ability to utilize basic measurement devices such as a tape measure, pressure gauges, electrical multimeter.
  • Ability to read and understand standard Test Documents including CDA/CDT procedures.
  • Ability to properly install strain gauges.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic schematics and symbols.
  • Knowledge of DMM, Oscilloscopes, Function generators, Power supplies and other Electrical Lab tools.
  • Ability to interface with and operate automated test systems via computer controls.
  • Basic knowledge of CAN Bus control system operation.
  • Experience with 12/24VDC automotive electrical systems.
  • Basic understanding of embedded control applications and electronic components.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL Class A or B License
  • CCO Certified or ability to obtain within 9 months of hire.
  • Machine Tool and fabrication experience

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of mobile and stationary cranes including, but not limited to, Truck-Mounted, Rough Terrain, Carry Deck, and Crawler Cranes.
  • Read, understand, and utilize standard ASAE Crane & Rigging symbols/signals.
  • Use basic PC/laptop/tablet & employee desktop functions.
  • Read and understand Engineering drawings.
  • Utilize basic measurement devices such as a tape measure, pressure gauges, electrical multimeter.
  • Read and understand standard Test Documents including CDA/CDT procedures.
  • Properly install strain gauges.
  • Interface with and operate automated test systems via computer controls.
