About the position

The Territory Sales Representative role involves connecting people and communities by offering fiber services through door-to-door solicitation. This position requires spending significant time outdoors, canvassing neighborhoods to acquire new residential customers and providing reliable internet services. The role emphasizes customer engagement, sales presentations, and maintaining high ethical standards while representing the company.

Responsibilities

  • Spend approximately 90% of the time in an outside environment for extended periods in any season, with potential exposure to inclement weather.
  • Acquire new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Develop and present sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers' needs.
  • Work non-traditional hours to maximize customer contact opportunities.
  • Stay informed about competitors' activities in assigned territory and inform the manager of any changes.
  • Update the Customer Relationship Management system with relevant customer information, conversion status, and notes.
  • Manage the customer account from the sale through installation.
  • Perform telephone follow-ups on each sale after installation to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Set up and attend community events that will allow for sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
  • Valid state driver's license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
  • Proficient knowledge of and ability to operate a Smart Phone, iPad, and a computer.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather: heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
  • Ability to walk 1 ½ or more miles a day and up and down stairs within your residential territory.
  • Must be able to carry an iPad with case and a light bag with marketing materials for 5 plus hours a day.
  • Experience in sales, account management, or customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS/BA degree
  • Knowledge of local market with established local contacts
  • 1+ years of outside/field sales/door to door or related experience with quota requirements
  • Experience in residential direct sales, home security, or telecommunications industry.
