About the position

The Waste Pro Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth through targeted prospecting, business development, and relationship building within a defined territory. This role involves acquiring new contracts and extending existing ones for waste collection, processing, transportation, and disposal services. The Sales Representative utilizes consultative selling skills to understand client needs and collaborates with internal teams to meet expectations and close deals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop maximum potential sales volume and profitability within defined territory.
  • Participate in partnership with Regional and Corporate Sales Managers in developing strategic Market and Sales Planning.
  • Meet or exceed sales call activity goals for new sales.
  • Match Waste Pro services to customer needs and provide necessary sales support.
  • Develop a strong customer base by contacting prospective customers through phone and in-person visits.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct communication and feedback solicitation.
  • Drive acquisition, retention, and renewal of contracts by maintaining relationships with customers and decision-makers.
  • Prepare winning proposals by understanding the competition and industry knowledge.
  • Develop bid and RFP submittal packages in partnership with corporate sales and regional management.
  • Interface with WP executives and managers to target opportunities and pursue leads.
  • Close contracts through negotiation, competitive pricing, and adherence to sales strategy.
  • Initiate billing and contract audits with finance and regional management.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in community events to promote Waste Pro's services.
  • Keep management informed of sales activities impacting the Division, Region, and Company.
  • Use technology to monitor, track, and report sales activity, accurately forecasting revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Sales and Marketing for press coverage and advertising needs.
  • Research competitor services and pricing.
  • Maintain sales activity status using a standard format or sales automation tool.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of sales/marketing/business development experience in the Waste Services Industry, particularly in Commercial Sales.
  • 1+ years of progressive sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in consultative and solutions-based selling skills.
  • Skills in negotiation, bid responses, contract management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Experience in sales generation, customer interaction, and account management.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor with integrity and honesty.
  • Basic understanding of sales automation technology.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience in developing strategies to increase sales volumes and manage costs.
  • Knowledge of the Waste Industry and external factors influencing client decisions.
