About the position

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales in the education sector across multiple states, focusing on technical and engineering solutions. This role involves managing key accounts, developing new business opportunities, and understanding the nuances of university buying procedures. The successful candidate will work remotely while covering a designated territory, primarily in Texas and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales in the education sector across Texas and surrounding states.
  • Manage key accounts and develop new business opportunities.
  • Understand and navigate university buying procedures and protocols.
  • Accurately forecast and budget sales activities.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline and close deals effectively.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

  • External technical sales experience.
  • Ability to map out a sector and self-generate new business sales.
  • Experience with technical engineering and scientific training equipment.
  • Experience selling technical products to universities and research institutions.
  • Understanding of university buying procedures and market nuances.
  • Sales management experience or senior business development experience.
  • Ability to accurately forecast and manage budgets.
  • Strong pipeline management and closing skills.
  • Engineering or Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record in business-to-business sales.
