About the position

The Territory Manager at M&D Distributors is responsible for driving business growth in the New York area by acquiring new customers, maintaining existing relationships, and recovering lost business. This role requires expertise in diesel engines and a strong understanding of the sales cycle, as well as the ability to develop strategic growth plans for the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire new business and maintain growth of existing accounts in the New York area.
  • Become the subject matter expert on diesel engine repair and remanufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain growth strategies for the assigned territory.
  • Create a strategic plan to win business from a new customer 'dream' list.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and leverage M&D Distributors' advantages over other suppliers.
  • Participate in trade shows, customer events, and sales blitzes to promote the company.
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage and organize all sales activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of business-to-business sales experience in the automotive and/or transportation industry.
  • Understanding of diesel engine components preferred.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and work independently.
  • Demonstrated consistency, accuracy, and follow-through in work.
  • Ability to move, lift, and carry objects up to 50lbs.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company eligibility standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce for sales management.
  • Knowledge of diesel fuel pumps and injectors.
