About the position

The Office Manager at Stapleton Elementary School is responsible for performing a variety of clerical, secretarial, and administrative functions necessary for the effective operation of school administration. This role is crucial in delivering Framingham Public Schools' high expectations for achievement and ensuring equal access to high levels of instruction for all students. The Office Manager will contribute to the achievement of academic proficiency and the closing of the achievement gap among subgroups within the schools.

Responsibilities

  • Collect all absent messages from voice mail, e-mail, and written notices.
  • Log daily absences, tardiness, and dismissals with reasons for absence in X2.
  • Cross check teachers' attendance with messages.
  • Call parent/guardian of absent students for which there was no notification from home.
  • Meet with principal and attendance officer periodically to review attendance concerns.
  • Gather classroom lunch counts and bring to the kitchen.
  • Notify kitchen of any additional lunch orders when tardy students arrive.
  • Maintain and update weekly lunch count sheets for each classroom.
  • Create and print the monthly calendar of events for staff.
  • Schedule SPED meetings as requested and notify attendees of meeting times & dates.
  • Update and input student information in the student database.
  • Run reports as needed or requested by the Building Principal.
  • Provide access for all incoming visitors and assist them.
  • Answer and appropriately direct telephone calls from various stakeholders.
  • Copy handouts and fliers for distribution as requested.
  • Sort and distribute US and inter-District mail.
  • Input invoices into MUNIS.
  • Manage Absence Management and Time Attendance systems.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the building principal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • At least one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior successful experience working in a school office setting preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent preferred.
