About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Meter Reader 1st 6 Months to join the Xcel Energy team in Pueblo, Colorado. The role involves reading residential and commercial gas and electric meters, entering information into a handheld computer system, reporting irregularities, and communicating with customers. The position requires reporting hazardous conditions to the appropriate department, walking approximately 10-12 miles per day, and entering customer premises. It also involves dealing with various terrains and animals, exposure to inclement weather, and requires flexibility, teamwork, and a safety-conscious attitude. This role can lead to permanent, benefited employment after the first six months.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to walk 10-12 miles per day
• Previous customer service experience
• High level of accuracy and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Requires a valid driver's license
• Knowledge of handheld computers helpful
