About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Meter Reader with the potential for permanent employment after the first 6 months. The role involves reading residential and commercial gas and electric meters, entering data into a handheld computer system, reporting irregularities, communicating with customers, and reporting hazardous conditions. The job requires significant walking, entering customer premises, and dealing with various terrains and animals. It also involves exposure to inclement weather and requires flexibility, teamwork, and a safety-conscious attitude.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to walk 10-12 miles per day
• Previous customer service experience
• High level of accuracy and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Requires a valid driver's license
• Knowledge of handheld computers helpful
