About the position

This is a temporary opportunity with the potential to become long-term. Desert Springs Dental is seeking a Temporary Dental Front Desk professional to join our team and provide exceptional customer service to our patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience in office administration, and a positive attitude. This role involves managing patient appointments, verifying insurance, handling patient inquiries, and providing overall administrative support to ensure smooth office operations. Heartland Dental believes that to provide exceptional lifetime care for patients, we must hire and grow team members who will support the business and clinical needs of each supported dental office and foster a strong team building culture. As a Business Assistant, you'll work in an environment that encourages learning, team cohesion, and puts patients first. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow.
  • Verify insurance and process patient information accurately.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, including collecting payments and processing insurance claims.
  • Maintain patient records in accordance with office policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with filing, organizing patient charts, and other clerical tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate with dental staff to ensure patients are seen promptly and treatment plans are followed.
  • Ensure the front desk is organized and clean, creating a welcoming environment for patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office administration or dental office management is a plus.
  • Previous experience working at the front desk in a dental or medical office is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance procedures, and office management software is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor and a team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Experience with insurance verification and billing is a plus.
