About The Position
This position is responsible for unloading Custom tempered glass at the Tempering unload. Proper glass handling techniques and minimal quality glass inspection are a must. The shift is a 4/10hr Graveyard shift, Monday - Thursday from 5:45pm - 4:15am. The pay is $20.00 with a $2.00 shift differential.
Requirements
- Adhere to the company’s policies, rules, and regulations as set forth in the employee handbook.
- Maintain and wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Attend all safety meetings.
- Lift 50 pounds.
- Bend, squat, kneel, twist, stand for long periods of time, stretch, pull, and push.
Responsibilities
- Unload Custom tempered glass at the Tempering unload.
- Utilize proper glass handling techniques.
- Perform minimal quality glass inspection.
- Read/measure glass accurately with a tape measure.
- Check glass quality and identify basic glass defects.
- Place glass in correct Customer positions into bungees, harps, and squeeze racks.
- Accurately reject glass from bungees and squeeze racks.
- Properly close finished orders.
- Properly edge delete glass without causing Quality issues.
- Read and fill out proper unload paperwork (run list, packing maps).
- Set up customer orders properly.
- Communicate with the Q.A and furnace operator regarding quality or breakage issues.
- Prevent the line from getting backed up with glass.
- Maintain a high sense of urgency.
- Help unload packer when able depending on glass production requirements.
- Help with coating, maintenance, and other work station operations if asked.
