About the position

The University of New Mexico Los Alamos is seeking Temporary Part-Time faculty to teach Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses at the 100 or 200 level. This role involves teaching both online and face-to-face classes, with positions contingent upon student enrollment and course offerings each semester. The faculty will be responsible for all aspects of course delivery, including content development, grading, and assessment of student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach online and/or face-to-face Emergency Medical Services courses.
  • Develop course content and assignments.
  • Grade assignments and report grades.
  • Assess student learning as outlined by the Program Coordinator.
  • Meet with the class during assigned times.

Requirements

  • UNM Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Academy Approved EMT/EMS Instructor Coordinator.
  • Current New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician Certification (AEMT/Paramedic).
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) Card.

Nice-to-haves

  • New Mexico Resident.
  • Five years of professional EMS experience.
  • Experience teaching EMS/EMT classes.
  • Experience with program design/methodology.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) Instructor certification.
  • Online teaching experience.
