About the position

The University of New Mexico Los Alamos is seeking Temporary Part-Time faculty to teach online and/or face-to-face Anthropology courses at the 1000 or 2000 level. This role is contingent upon student enrollment levels and current course offerings, with positions potentially filled or eliminated each semester. The faculty will be responsible for all aspects of course delivery, including content delivery, assignment development, grading, and assessment of student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach online and/or face-to-face Anthropology courses at the 1000 or 2000 level.
  • Meet with students during assigned class times.
  • Deliver course content effectively.
  • Develop assignments and assessments for student learning.
  • Grade assignments and report grades as required.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator regarding course content and student assessment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Anthropology or a related subfield, or a master's degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Anthropology.
  • Successful completion of Higher Learning Commission's accreditation requirements for faculty.

Nice-to-haves

  • Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.
  • Experience in online teaching.
  • Terminal degree in Anthropology or a related subfield (Ph.D., MFA, etc.).
  • Residence in New Mexico.
