About the position

The Temp-Faculty Lecturer position at the University of Idaho is a non-tenure track temporary role for the fall 2025 semester. The primary focus is on teaching design studio courses at various levels, including first-year principles and graduate theory seminars. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity and expertise in architectural education, effectively communicate design concepts, and contribute positively to the architecture program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ARCH 243 Media in Architecture, focusing on hybridizing manual and digital design tools for architectural workflows.
  • Conduct two 75-minute sessions per week for ARCH 243, including lectures and workshops.
  • Teach ARCH 353 Architectural Design III, emphasizing architectural design processes, materials, and building tectonics.
  • Facilitate three 3-hour studio sessions per week for ARCH 353, including field trips and critique sessions outside scheduled hours.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching in a postsecondary setting in the architecture field.
