About The Position

Performs a variety of duties related to all phases of teller work, including proper receiving and handling of deposits, cashing of checks/share drafts, and facilitating efficient access of members to their accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and handles deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, etc., ensuring the proper endorsement on negotiable instruments.
  • Maintains authorized amounts of cash in teller drawer and reconciles drawer/dispenser/recycler according to credit union guidelines.
  • Ensures that all negotiable and confidential records are properly secured and kept confidential.
  • Completes special requests by opening or closing accounts; open and close sub-accounts; taking orders for checks; providing statements copies, and completing safe-deposit box procedures, and IRA procedures.
  • Complies with credit union operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions.
  • Explain, advise on and promote credit union products and services to members
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to cross-sell and fill members needs with credit union products.
  • Communicates ideas to supervisor for improving service to members
  • Understands his/her role in the event of a robbery, and knows proper post-robbery procedures.
  • Performs stop-payments procedures as necessary.
  • Assists members in entering and exiting safe deposit area.
  • Maintains neat and orderly work area and appropriate personal appearance and manner.
  • Assists in training new staff
  • Perform account reviews as assigned by supervisor/manager
  • Perform other duties as directed and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.
  • Perform mail duty, and cleaning.
  • Ability to work at multiple branch locations.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of member, employee, and credit union information.
  • Work must be performed on-site not remotely.
