About the position

The Technology Teacher at Chesapeake Treatment Center is responsible for providing specialized instruction to adolescent males in a residential setting, focusing on individual education plans (IEPs) and personal education plans (PEPs). The role requires a strong understanding of educational curriculums and behavior management, particularly for students in grades 6-12 with special education needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement individual education plans for each student under the supervision of the Director of Education.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the curriculum and Maryland State-wide learning outcome goals.
• Maintain appropriate behavior management skills within the school-wide Behavior Management Program.

Requirements

• Eligible for certification by MSDE.
• Experience working with grades 6th-12th and in special education.

Nice-to-haves

• 1+ years of experience teaching in a special education or behavioral health setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of educational curriculums and implementation of lesson plans in accordance with MDSE regulations.
