About the position

The Media Services Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive technical assistance and customer support related to multimedia and distance education equipment. This includes troubleshooting audiovisual (A/V) equipment, assisting with photography and videography, supporting large group events, and managing classroom technology. The Specialist works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and vendors, offering exceptional service across varying levels of technical proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for multimedia and distance education equipment to a diverse range of clients.
• Perform A/V equipment setup and operations, including lighting, cameras, sound reinforcement, and other multimedia tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment, software, hardware, and networking, both remotely and on-site.
• Install and maintain classroom technology equipment according to university standards.
• Diagnose routine equipment malfunctions, offering resolutions or escalating as needed.
• Maintain multimedia equipment such as cameras, projectors, and presentation systems.
• Train instructors, staff, and students in the proper use of instructional media equipment.
• Oversee equipment storage, security, and inventory, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, methodologies, and equipment relevant to the role.
• Assist with video conferencing setup and support, including Zoom meetings.
• Capture and edit video and photography productions for events and projects.
• Organize and manage media production requests, collaborating with clients to develop creative project outlines.
• Monitor email and phone requests, providing prompt responses and forwarding as necessary.
• Participate in event setup, operations, and teardown, ensuring proper equipment functionality.
• Perform additional media-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a media-related or relevant field.
• At least two years of experience in multimedia services, IT support, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere and Lightroom.
