As a Technology Services Management Trainee at BNSF, it is designed for ambitious graduates eager to dive into the tech side of the transportation industry. Through a comprehensive training program, you'll gain in-depth knowledge across various technology domains, including software development, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity, while enhancing your leadership and management skills. This role serves as the foundation for a rewarding career, allowing for growth within the company and the chance to influence the future of railroad technology services. This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of 40 hrs/wk, split between the office and remote work, with weekend or evening work as needed. Travel is minimal, must have reliable transportation to and from work. Relocation is required if located more than 50 miles from the location. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement critical transportation applications to improve BNSF's operational efficiency.
  • Support infrastructure projects by enhancing network and security infrastructure.
  • Use analytics tools, such as train sensors, machine vision, drones, and more, to interpret and visualize data, supporting decision-making and operational insights.
  • Gain knowledge of critical safety system design, data modeling, data science principles, .NET, C/C++, Python software development, web development custom designed frameworks, project management, and various internal systems.
  • Be exposed to the methodologies and principles associated with critical systems that demand a highly available and safe infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Computer Science related degree program from an accredited university OR have obtained a degree in a program listed above.
  • Have and will maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
  • Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, EXCLUDING internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior intern experience or less than 3 years of work experience in technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have or have held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
  • Completed a degree (or anticipated degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Decision Science, or Cyber Security.
