About the position
The Registered Technologist position at Norman Regional Health System is focused on expanding the innovative cardiovascular program within a community hospital setting. The role involves preparing and operating equipment for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient care, and maintaining a sterile environment. The technologist will work closely with a team of cardiologists and electrophysiologists in a state-of-the-art facility that includes multiple Cath Lab suites and treatment rooms.
Responsibilities
- Prepares equipment before and during procedures.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition.
- Prepares, positions, and provides patient care.
- Establishes and maintains a sterile environment.
- Serves as preceptor for new hires and radiology students.
- Participates in the orientation of new staff.
- Uses downtime appropriately by stocking rooms and checking equipment.
- Maintains strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership.
Requirements
- Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology.
- Eligible for or currently holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
- Previous procedural area experience preferred.
- Registered as a Radiographer with ARRT or holds registration from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCIS).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training required during orientation and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training must be achieved within 6 months of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Cardiovascular (CV) or (CI) and/or (VI) certification preferred.
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab preferred.
