About the position

The Technician role at Daifuku involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges. The position requires mentoring and training of other personnel in the absence of senior technicians or supervisors, ensuring that equipment operates safely and efficiently while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Completes basic maintenance assignments including preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance.
• Diagnoses equipment failures under the guidance of senior personnel.
• Provides direction and guidance to personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities.
• Reads and interprets repair manuals, schematics, and instructions from supervisors.
• Works in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
• Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
• Performs additional duties as required by management.
• Assists with basic maintenance tasks such as sweeping and cleaning.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• Minimum 2 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays
• Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts in an industrial environment
• Minimum 2 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience
• 3+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background
• Minimum 1 year experience with PLC logic and/or Industrial HVAC certification

Nice-to-haves

• Previous work experience in an Airport environment
• Experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• HVAC, welding/brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills
• Advanced computer skills
