About the position

The Technician role at V-Soft Consulting involves performing detailed inspections and repairs on test vehicles, providing technical support, and maintaining workshop tools and inventory. This position requires a strong technical background in automotive technology and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed and thorough inspections and repair of all test vehicles.
  • Perform SW and HW updates including reporting systems with guidance from Sr. Technicians.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of test vehicles as defined.
  • Provide full vehicle support for entire concern test vehicles as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining workshop tool, tire, and service part inventory.
  • Provide technical support for visiting test groups.
  • Install, remove and maintain data logging equipment for information gathering from vehicles.
  • Inspect assigned vehicles.
  • Receive parts from Germany and other stations.
  • Sample and collect fluids with full documentation.
  • Maintain and update engineering tools such as iDEX, Diagra, ODIS, and CP Tool with guidance from Sr. Technicians.
  • Prepare vehicles for scrapping.
  • Prepare vehicles for rotation for external drivers.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of work area and common areas.
  • Provide overall support for tasks unrelated to vehicle testing for department operations.
  • Support test driver needs and questions before and after shifts.

Requirements

  • Certificate in Automotive Technology.
  • Minimum two ASE certifications: One powertrain related.
  • Forklift certification and operation.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive vocational technical training.
  • Dealership product training.
  • Basic ability with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Recent Automotive drivetrain diagnostic experience.
  • Valid drivers license with good DMV record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working as a Technician in an Engineering Test and Development Environment.
  • Diagnostic experience including VAS testers.
  • German and/or Spanish language skills.
  • Self-organized.
  • Organize and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Resource management.
