About the position

Technical Specialists work under the direct supervision of Field Managers and/or Project Managers in the field. Technical Specialists will perform environmental remediation activities centered around in situ injection technologies. Individuals in this position may assist on basic soil and groundwater and site characterization tasks. A Technical Specialist will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of mixing and injection equipment, application of the different injection methods, tooling, and mechanical systems. Technical Specialists are expected to participate in Cascade's health and safety program through active engagement in the recognition, identification, reporting, and mitigation of hazardous situations, conditions, equipment and/or practices. Technical Specialists are expected to assume leadership roles in the execution of projects and the continuing education of Technicians and trainees. This is a field position, requiring out of town travel for 50% - 60% of work time. Employees will gain comprehensive knowledge in the environmental remediation field supporting clean-up objectives with our clients at many of the most contaminated sites in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental remediation activities centered around in situ injection technologies.
  • Assist on basic soil and groundwater and site characterization tasks.
  • Operate mixing and injection equipment safely and effectively.
  • Apply different injection methods, tooling, and mechanical systems.
  • Participate in health and safety program by recognizing, identifying, reporting, and mitigating hazardous situations.
  • Assume leadership roles in project execution and education of Technicians and trainees.
  • Travel to job sites throughout the region and sometimes country.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (Candidates with Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering degrees favored).
  • 1 - 3 years experience performing environmental remediation or sampling.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel proficiency is desired.
  • Possess valid driver's license and maintain clean driving record with no DUIs, excessive or major violations.
  • Submit to and pass, without restrictions, a pre-placement physical exam and drug and alcohol screen.
